Ald. Stephanie Coleman Urges 16th Ward Residents
Englewood’s Ald. Stephanie Coleman Urges 16th Ward Residents to Complete the Census
Englewood, one of the south side Chicago communities that traditionally has been hard to count in the Census, ratcheted up its 2020 Census outreach with the support of Ald. Stephanie Coleman (D-16th). The census isn’t about today, the alderman said in a special video plea to Englewood residents. It’s about tomorrow. She urged residents to complete the census, reminding them how it affects funding for hospitals, schools, and public transportation.
The fiscal year-end push was supported by a series of synchronized social media posting to spread a powerful message and drive a large audience to take a specific action. In this instance, the goal was to increase awareness and participation in the 2020 census by encouraging hard-to-reach residents to complete the census online, by phone, or by mail.
